The OSIRIS-REx spacecraft performed a flyby of the TAG sample site today, marking its last closest approach to asteroid Bennu before its planned departure from proximity operations scheduled for May 2021. This flyby gave the mission team an opportunity to acquire images and data of the sample site after the TAG collection event on Oct. 20, 2020. The images and data will allow the team to characterize the impact of the sample collection event on the surface, leading to further understanding of the surface and sample properties.
