KinetX, Inc. of Tempe Arizona is Selected to be a Prime Contractor for the Department of the Navy; Naval
Sea Systems Command SeaPort-e Rolling Admissions Solicitation #N00178-11-R-4000
On Tuesday, June 28, 2011, KinetX, Inc., a Tempe, Arizona based aerospace engineering company of 60
people, was notified by the US Navy that they were selected to be a Prime Contractor for the Department
of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command SeaPort-e Rolling Admissions solicitation #N00178-11-R-4000; this
contracting vehicle is often referred to as SeaPort or SeaPort-e.
SeaPort-e provides an efficient and effective means of contracting for professional support services and
enhancing small business participation. The SeaPort-e contractual vehicle provides a mechanism for
KinetX to bid on appropriate work, negotiate the scope, and begin work without having to incur the costs
of a full solicitation each time, thus decreasing the time to market and the time to cash flow, as well
as saving the government considerable money. KinetX was among over 300-small businesses that were
selected as Prime Contractors for this opportunity. SeaPort-e is an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite
Quantity (IDIQ) task order contract valued at $37 billion.

KinetX, Inc. is the first commercial entity to provide spacecraft navigation services for NASA
interplanetary missions and is currently providing similar mission design and navigation services for
three NASA missions: the MESSENGER mission that is currently orbiting the planet Mercury, the New
Horizons mission that is on its way to fly by Pluto in 2015, and the newly selected OSIRIS-REx asteroid
sample return mission that will launch in 2016. KinetX also played a key role in the design and
